Live music in London at Christmas

Every December, the Temple of Art and Music in Elephant & Castle turns into a festival: The Best Christmas Ever.

What it is

A month of live music at TAM, inside Mercato Metropolitano: bands and artists on TAM’s stage, London collectives taking over the room, rising voices from TAM Open Music Academy, and nights made for gathering friends and family. Its theme song is Dana Gillespie’s “The Best Christmas Ever”.

This year

4–29 December 2026: 21 nights, most at £10 a ticket. It opens with The Big Christmas Hootenanny on Friday 4 December and has Dana Gillespie live on Wednesday 16 December. See the 2026 festival.

Every week in December

TAM’s regulars carry on through the festival, including The Great British Blues Jam on Saturday afternoons and Singers @ Sunday Spot on Sunday evenings. See what was on in December 2025 or every Christmas since 2021.

Getting there

TAM is inside Mercato Metropolitano, 42 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6DR. The nearest Tube is Elephant & Castle (Northern and Bakerloo lines), and Elephant & Castle rail station is next door. Street food from Mercato’s kitchens is all around.
