Privacy notice
This explains what information we collect on this website, why, who helps us handle it, how long we keep it and your rights. It covers The Best Christmas Ever festival site at christmas.tam.tv.
Who we are
TAM, the Temple of Art and Music, 42 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6DR, is responsible for the information collected on this site. To ask anything about your information, reply to any email we’ve sent you or write to us at that address.
What we collect and why
| When you… | We collect | Why (lawful basis) |
|---|---|---|
| Book tickets | Your name and email; company, team name and a line about your team if you give them; table requests; the tickets, any donation, and which invitation link brought you, if any | To sell you tickets, send your tickets and let you in on the night (contract) |
| Pay by card | Payments are taken by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; Stripe tells us whether the payment went through | To take payment (contract) |
| Order signed books | Your name, email, phone if given, who to sign it to, and your postal address if we’re posting it | To fulfil your order (contract) |
| News of next Christmas | Your email, your name if given, what you want to hear about, when, and the consent you gave | To email you news of the next festival (consent: unsubscribe any time) |
| Applying to play, take over a night or join the crew | Your name, email, phone if given, your act, links to your work and what you tell us | To consider your application and reply (legitimate interests) |
| Early party, hire and sponsorship enquiries | Your name, email, phone if given, company, group size, dates and message | To reply and hold dates for you (legitimate interests) |
| Follow an artist | Your name if given, your email, which artist, when, and the consent you gave | To email you about that artist’s gigs and news (consent: unsubscribe any time) |

| Pin your brand or enquire about sponsorship | Your company, logo, contact name, email, phone and message | To show your pin and reply to you (contract or legitimate interests) |
| Send an invitation or Christmas card | Invitation cards keep the names and note you type in the link itself; we don’t store them. Christmas cards you create are stored so the link works | To make the card you asked for (legitimate interests) |
| Visit the site | We count visits to artist pages and invitation cards per day. These counts don’t identify you, and we don’t use advertising or tracking cookies | To understand which artists and links bring people to the festival (legitimate interests) |
Cookies and your browser
We don’t set cookies. The site stores a little in your browser to work: which invitation link you arrived from (until you close the tab), and, for TAM staff only, the door and admin sign-ins. Videos play through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which may store information once you press play. The site’s fonts load from Google Fonts, which sees your device’s IP address.
Who helps us
We use these services to run the site. They process information for us under contract, and some are based outside the UK, in which case they protect it with the safeguards UK law requires:
- Railway: hosts the website and its data (servers in the United States)
- Stripe: card payments
- Resend: sends our emails (tickets, confirmations and artist updates)
- Eventbrite: some nights are also sold on Eventbrite, under Eventbrite’s own privacy notice
- Google Fonts and YouTube: fonts and videos on the pages
We don’t sell your information. When you follow an artist, the emails come from TAM; we don’t pass your details to anyone else without telling you first.
How long we keep it
- Bookings, payments and book orders: for six years, as UK accounting rules require.
- Artist follows: until you unsubscribe. We then keep a note that you unsubscribed, so we don’t email you again.
- News of next Christmas: until you unsubscribe (every email has a link).
- Applications and early enquiries: for two years, so we can come back to you for the following Christmas, then deleted.
- Raffle names: deleted after the festival.
- Visit counts: daily counts for 60 days, then just the totals.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to have a copy to take elsewhere. You can withdraw consent at any time: every artist email has an unsubscribe link. To use any of these rights, reply to one of our emails or write to us at the address above.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve used your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We’ll update this notice if how we use information changes. Last updated: November 2026.
